Pros
- •Delivers clean, vibrant sound with punchy bass, clear mids, and crisp highs, making it great for music, podcasts, and calls.
- •Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) effectively reduces background noise like fans, traffic, and chatter without completely isolating the user.
- •Exceptional battery life lasting up to 60 hours, supporting several days of use even with ANC activated.
- •Comfortable on-ear design that is lightweight and suitable for long listening sessions, with ear pads and headband cozy enough to wear even while falling asleep.
- •Durable, fold-flat design that makes storage and portability easy.
- •Sweat and water resistant, making them a good companion for workouts.
- •Reliable and fast Bluetooth connection with stable pairing and quick response.
- •Convenient joystick and internal buttons for effortless volume and media controls, including quick ANC toggling without stick drift.
- •Effective microphones providing clear phone calls on both iPhone and Android devices.
- •Stylish matte black design with tasteful yellow highlights and a shiny logo, offering a modern and appealing look.
Cons
- •Build quality is a notable weak point, with the plastic hardware feeling cheap and prone to breaking under normal use.
- •Some users report one side stopping working or parts coming loose within just a couple of months, raising durability concerns.
- •The snug on-ear fit can feel tight during extended use, especially for those wearing glasses or with sensitive ears.
- •While ANC is effective, it doesn’t offer complete isolation, which might be a drawback if you want full noise blocking.
- •The headphones don’t excel in extreme durability compared to some higher-end competitors.
Bottom Line
The Skullcandy Icon ANC headphones combine excellent sound quality, long battery life, and reliable active noise cancellation with a stylish, comfortable design that’s perfect for everyday use and workouts. However, the build quality may disappoint those looking for rugged durability or an ultra-luxurious feel, so if you prioritize long-term toughness, you might want to explore other options. For balanced ANC, extended battery life, and solid audio performance at a good value, these are a solid choice. If durability is your top priority, consider looking into options with more robust construction, but if sound, comfort, and battery reign supreme, these headphones fit the bill nicely.
