Cons
- •Short battery life can be disappointing, lasting only 10 to 15 minutes; a larger 5.0Ah battery is recommended.
- •The string trimmer struggles on patchy grass and in challenging terrain.
- •The trigger design and safety switch on the trimmer are uncomfortable and could cause hand cramps.
- •Counter-clockwise rotation of the trimmer may require users to adjust their technique.
- •Weed eater is longer than preferred and could benefit from a size adjustment.
- •Multiple user reviews mention it isn’t suitable for clearing heavily overgrown areas.
Bottom Line
The Skil CB7478C-11 Combo Kit is a strong contender for lightweight and user-friendly yard maintenance tools suited to small to medium-sized yards. While the battery life can be limiting, a larger 5.0Ah battery can extend operation time significantly. Its tools boast effective performance for typical residential use, but if you're tackling more demanding landscapes, you may want to explore alternatives or additional batteries to increase efficiency.
