Cons
- •Initial ink flow may be inconsistent for the first few strokes, requiring a bit of patience.
- •Experienced smudging when used on glossy surfaces, such as Christmas cards, meaning it's best for standard paper.
- •The grip section's plastic material can cause uneven weight distribution and potential fatigue over time.
- •Some users noticed the click mechanism doesn't feel as durable as in other pen types.
- •Pen's slim body can make it tricky to adjust grip for optimal balance, particularly for those who prefer a bulkier pen.
Bottom Line
The Sharpie S-Gel Pens are a top choice for both casual and professional use due to their smooth, vibrant, and smudge-free writing. While best suited for standard paper owing to occasional smudging on glossy surfaces, their comfort and performance make them a worthwhile addition to any stationery collection. If you favor a more substantial pen, consider alternatives, but for most, the S-Gel's performance outshines competitors in the same price bracket.
