- •Lift-Away feature allows quick detachment of the canister for portable cleaning of stairs, upholstery, and hard-to-reach places.
- •Swivel steering makes maneuvering around furniture and tight spaces smooth and easy.
- •HEPA filter combined with Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology traps 99.9% of dust and allergens, great for allergy sufferers.
- •Large dust cup capacity means fewer interruptions to empty the bin during cleaning sessions.
- •Brush roll control lets you switch between carpet and hard floors without scattering debris, enhancing versatility.
- •Built-in LED headlights brighten dark corners and under furniture for more thorough cleaning.
- •Long 30-foot cord offers extended reach, minimizing the need to change outlets frequently.
- •Comes with useful attachments like upholstery tool, crevice tool, and long-reach hose for detailed cleaning jobs.
- •Relatively lightweight at 16 lbs, making it manageable for most users during extended use.
Cons
- •Some users find the vacuum a bit heavy and bulky when using the Lift-Away pod detached, making above-floor cleaning tiring.
- •Noise level is higher than expected, which might bother users with sensitive ears.
- •Despite the swivel head, it can feel cumbersome in very tight corners or small spaces without extra accessories.
- •Filters require regular cleaning to maintain suction and performance, adding some upkeep.
- •Brush roll can be difficult to clean because it requires tools to access and may get tangled with long hair.
- •Corded design limits mobility compared to cordless vacuums, potentially inconvenient for very large spaces.
- •The vacuum occasionally struggles to maintain a straight path, causing control issues for some users.
- •Brush roll doesn't perform well on very fine dust or in cutting long hair/fibers, which can get wrapped around it.
- •LED lights turn off when using attachments, reducing visibility in darker cleaning spots.
- •Some find the construction bulky and heavier compared to similar models, impacting portability.
Bottom Line
The Shark® Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum delivers powerful suction, excellent allergen control, and versatile cleaning features like Lift-Away portability and brush roll control — all great for homes with carpets, pets, and allergy concerns. However, if you want quieter operation, easier brush maintenance, or cordless flexibility, this model might feel a bit noisy, cumbersome, or require frequent filter upkeep for you. For a vacuum with strong features but a bit less weight and easier roller cleaning, considering other Shark models or cordless alternatives could be worth your time.
