Pros
- •Plant-based, making it safe for washing baby bottles and ideal for families with young children.
- •Mild lemon scent that is not overpowering, ideal for sensitive users.
- •Lasts a long time, which helps offset its somewhat high price.
Cons
- •Misleadingly lists the weight as 70 dry ounces, causing confusion over actual volume.
- •Ineffective at cleaning, often requiring dishes to be pre-rinsed or re-washed.
- •Recent formula change has led to white residue spots on utensils.
- •Often leaves food residue behind, failing to properly disinfect dishes.
- •Perceived as wasteful due to needed additional washing.
- •Poor performance in even robust dishwashers.
Bottom Line
The Seventh Generation Dishwasher Detergent Gel may be plant-based and mild-scented, but it struggles with effectively cleaning dishes and leaving them residue-free, especially after a recent formula change. If eco-friendliness is a top priority and you are open to compromised performance, it might be worth considering. However, those concerned solely with cleaning ability might want to explore other detergents for more reliable results.
