- •Provides significant comfort improvement over stock saddles, especially for the Mongoose Dolomite.
- •Suitable for larger individuals, with specific recommendations for 'fat boys.'
- •Highly effective gel padding enhances comfort and protection on rides.
- •Ideal for longer rides, such as a 15-mile trip, with minimal soreness reported.
- •Offers great support and comfort, particularly noted for male users.
Cons
- •The included clamp is poorly designed, potentially posing safety hazards due to soft metal losing position.
- •The seat may not fully disperse weight away from the bones, leading to discomfort for some users.
- •Some reported discomfort and chafing after long rides, with one experiencing tailbone pain after 12 miles.
- •Not ideal for long rides; better suited for short neighborhood trips.
- •Concerns about product's origin, with doubts about Italian manufacturing and suspicion of Chinese production.
Bottom Line
The Selle Royal Unisex Lagoon Bike Seat is praised for its comfort and support, especially for larger individuals and on longer rides. However, there are concerns about the clamp's design and long-distance comfort. Those seeking a comfortable seat for shorter rides will find it a solid option, but long-distance riders might need to consider models with better dispersion or more reliable hardware.
