Pros
- •Provides excellent adhesion, ensuring boxes remain securely closed during shipment.
- •Strong and durable; the tape does not rip easily and handles various taping needs effectively.
- •Dispenses smoothly without sticking to itself, preventing wrinkling during application.
- •Proven reliability over 20+ years of use, considered the best tape for shipping and packing.
- •Offers good value for quality, particularly when purchased in bulk.
Cons
- •Recent batches exhibit quality issues, with the tape shredding easily and resulting in significant waste.
- •The adhesive loses effectiveness when exposed to different temperatures, sometimes requiring extra pressure to stay adhered.
- •Does not stick well to diverse surfaces such as smooth boxes and cardboard, necessitating more tape than usual.
- •Pulling the tape tight can cause it to pop off, compromising package integrity.
- •Some users report frustrations with the decline in quality and inability to return the product.
Bottom Line
While the Scotch Long Lasting Storage Packaging Tape has a history of reliable performance, recent reports of quality issues may be a concern for some users. If you're experiencing problems with adhesive effectiveness or shredding, you might consider alternatives like the Duck HP260, which several users have identified as a superior option. However, Scotch tape continues to offer good value for money and remains effective for those who haven't encountered these issues.
