- •Keypad visibility can be poor in low light unless pressing the "home" button illuminates the numbers, which may not be sufficient in darkness
- •Installation can be difficult if the door thickness slightly exceeds the specified size, with compatibility issues possible for doors over 1mm thicker
- •Touchscreen keypad may be less user-friendly in dark conditions compared to buttons or raised keypads
- •Slightly higher price point may be a consideration when compared to simpler or fewer-featured locks
Bottom Line
The Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt offers a user-friendly, reliable smart locking experience with excellent app integration and durable build quality. Its ease of installation makes it a good choice for DIYers, and its robust remote management features are perfect for securing shared or rental properties. However, if you prefer a lock with fewer security limitations or longer battery life extensions, you might want to explore other models, or consider a different brand that emphasizes extended battery life or enhanced security features.
