- •The picture quality is nothing short of spectacular, with vibrant colors, sharp details, and an impressive visual presence that outshines many top-tier 4K HDR TVs.
- •The TV uses advanced 8K AI Upscaling Pro technology to significantly enhance 4K and 1080p content, making non-8K sources look much better.
- •The glare-free screen and Samsung Vision AI improve viewing comfort and image clarity in various lighting conditions.
- •The sleek, modern design fits beautifully in upscale living rooms, adding a stylish element beyond just performance.
- •Sound quality is notably clear and powerful, delivering a solid audio experience that often eliminates the need for external speakers.
- •The Wireless One Connect box allows for a clean setup by reducing cable clutter and centralizing connections.
- •Alexa is built-in, and smart features are intuitive and responsive, providing easy navigation through apps and settings.
Cons
- •Many users report persistent issues with the TV randomly shutting off or failing to turn on, pointing toward a recurring defect that can seriously undermine the viewing experience.
- •Customer support from Samsung is often described as frustrating and difficult, especially when dealing with warranty or replacement processes.
- •The “one cord” Wireless One Connect system, while elegant, complicates installation and can lead to delays or connection drops, especially if the external box isn’t positioned perfectly.
- •Setup is tricky and requires careful handling due to the TV’s weight and fragility; tilting or laying the screen face down can cause damage.
- •Samsung’s installation instructions leave much to be desired and are overly complex, prompting many experts to recommend professional installation.
- •The remote control is small, non-illuminated, poorly labeled, and awkward to use, despite featuring a solar panel — a frustrating downgrade for such a high-end device.
- •True 8K content is practically nonexistent, so most viewers will be relying heavily on upscaled 4K and lower-resolution sources, which isn’t always a transformative experience.
- •The retail mode used in stores is far superior visually compared to typical home settings, so customers might feel a bit underwhelmed by the home picture after purchase.
Bottom Line
If you’re after jaw-dropping picture quality, cutting-edge upscaling, and an immersive large-screen presence, the SAMSUNG 65-Inch Neo QLED QN990F 8K offers top-tier performance with a sleek design and smart features to match. However, *beware* the ongoing reports of power issues and complicated setup that may require professional help. Plus, keep in mind that genuine 8K content is still scarce, so most of what you’ll enjoy is enhanced 4K. If reliability and ease-of-use are your top priorities, you might want to explore alternative flagship TVs with fewer reported glitches and simpler installation before making the investment.
