Pros
- •Comprehensive health and fitness tracking including ECG, heart rate monitoring, sleep coaching, running coach, and energy score, making it a solid upgrade for users coming from devices like Fitbit or Oura ring.
- •Bright, clear, and customizable display that is easy to read in various lighting conditions, with plenty of watch face options to suit different styles.
- •Smooth, lag-free performance with quick navigation and seamless integration especially with Samsung Galaxy phones, offering better app support than some competitors.
- •Comfortable enough for all-day wear, with a versatile cushion design and high-quality materials that look premium and work well from workouts to professional settings.
- •Battery life typically lasts through the day and often into the next, requiring daily charging under regular use but efficient enough to use about 20% battery per day without always-on display enabled.
- •Easy and fast setup with reliable and accurate health readings, plus seamless Bluetooth connectivity.
- •Offers useful AI assistant features for on-the-go convenience like setting timers and managing tasks.
- •Multiple interchangeable bands available for customization, suitable for various wrist sizes and style preferences.
- •Clear messaging capabilities directly on the watch add to its versatility beyond fitness tracking.
- •Durable design overall but with a modern aesthetic that suits both casual and formal occasions.
Cons
- •Battery life, while decent, still requires daily or almost daily charging under moderate use, which might inconvenience heavy users.
- •The 44mm size can feel bulky or large, particularly for those with smaller wrists, and the 40mm version is the smallest option available.
- •The screen can be prone to cracking, so investing in a screen protector is highly recommended to avoid damage.
- •Though comfortable, some users find it less cozy than competitors like Fitbit Versa 4 for all-day wear.
- •Some users may find the watch face/cover somewhat large or cumbersome initially.
- •While AI assistant functionality is handy, it may not replace full voice assistant experiences on other smartwatches.
Bottom Line
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 (2025) offers robust fitness and health tracking with premium design and smooth integration, especially for Samsung phone users. Its major strengths lie in accuracy, versatility, and a bright, customizable display. However, if you prioritize longer battery life or a smaller, less bulky size, you might want to consider alternatives with better battery endurance or more compact designs. Still, if you want a stylish, feature-packed smartwatch without ongoing subscription fees and with a generous 2-year warranty, this is a strong contender in the fitness-focused smartwatch market.
