- •Picture quality is stunning, crystal clear, and vibrant with 100% Color Volume thanks to Quantum Dot technology.
- •The ultra-thin AirSlim design offers a sleek, modern look with a bezel that’s barely there.
- •Setup is quick and straightforward with guided instructions, making the initial experience user-friendly.
- •The remote control is rechargeable via USB-C and slim, though sensitive, offering convenience without constant battery replacements.
- •Brightness and color dynamism offer multiple options, keeping images true-to-life even at different viewing angles.
- •The Q4 AI Processor delivers smooth performance and excellent upscaling, with fast boot times and responsive navigation.
- •Seamless integration with external sound systems and Samsung soundbars enables immersive audio experiences, especially with Q-symphony via eARC.
- •The game hub adds value for gamers, allowing play of titles like Starfield through Xbox account integration.
- •Built-in cable management slots facilitate a clean, tidy installation.
- •The large 85-inch screen offers significantly crisper and clearer images than smaller models, excellent for sports and fast-action content.
Cons
- •One dead pixel out of the box was noticed on light-colored screens, which can be distracting.
- •The remote can be overly sensitive, leading to accidental channel or menu changes; it’s also small and easy to misplace.
- •Sound control on the remote may feel inconsistent or "wonky," and multiple remotes (Samsung plus streaming devices) don’t always communicate well.
- •The smart TV interface and menu system can be challenging to navigate, lacking the intuitiveness found in competitors like Amazon Fire Stick.
- •Many of the built-in apps and features go unused by typical users, making all the smart extras feel a bit overwhelming.
- •The TV is quite heavy and requires assistance to lift and position safely.
- •The minimalist leg stands cause a slight backward lean, which may require adjustment with cushioning.
- •Online support is mostly AI-based, which can limit access to human help when troubleshooting.
Bottom Line
The Samsung 85-Inch Class QLED Q8F (2025 Model) delivers spectacular picture quality with vibrant colors and sharp detail that really shines on such a large screen. Its ultra-slim design and strong smart features make it an impressive centerpiece for any living room, especially if you appreciate gaming or premium audio integration. However, potential buyers should be wary of the sensitive remote and a user interface that could frustrate those who prefer a simpler experience. If you want similar picture quality but with a more intuitive interface, you might want to wait for offers on Samsung’s alternative models or explore other brands with easier smart TV menus. Overall, this TV is a compelling choice for enthusiasts who prioritize image quality and stylish design.
