- •Offers ample storage space with a 123-gallon capacity, perfect for garden tools, toys, pool chemicals, patio cushions, and more.
- •Weather-resistant design keeps contents dry through heavy rain and windstorms, protecting your belongings effectively.
- •Attractive brown color and decorative appearance blend nicely with outdoor spaces like patios, porches, and backyards.
- •Sturdy and well-built construction makes the cabinet feel durable despite its relatively lightweight materials.
- •Narrow but tall design fits well in decks or tight spaces and still accommodates larger items such as buckets and pillows.
- •Doors close securely with a simple push-and-click latch mechanism.
- •Top surface is slightly curved for rain runoff but stable enough to hold items like water bottles or even a 62” TV.
- •Includes an inside shelf that enhances organization inside the cabinet.
- •Assembly uses all standard screws and parts, simplifying the sorting process during build.
- •Easy to clean and maintain, with good longevity when kept under a covered area.
Cons
- •Assembly is quite time-consuming and challenging, typically requiring two people and about two hours to complete.
- •Screw hole alignment can be tricky; starting holes may need pre-punching with an awl, and a cordless drill (not included and not mentioned in the product description) makes assembly much easier.
- •Screw organization is poor, which adds to the frustration during setup.
- •The top panel is difficult to attach, needing someone to apply pressure at an angle while screwing.
- •Lid lifting can cause the door to pop out, indicating some design flaw in the hinge or door attachment.
- •Left door may not close fully due to a slightly bent panel, creating a visible gap and latch problems.
- •The surface scratches easily, so protecting it (e.g., with a drop cloth) during assembly is advisable.
- •Color labeled as black is actually a dark brown, which might cause confusion or not meet all aesthetic preferences.
Bottom Line
The Rubbermaid Decorative Outdoor Storage Cabinet is a solid choice if you need a weather-resistant, spacious, and attractive outdoor storage solution that keeps your gear dry and organized. However, be prepared for a somewhat tricky and time-consuming assembly that ideally involves two people and requires additional tools like a drill. The door design has some small flaws that might bother perfectionists but don’t significantly impact overall usability. If you want a similar outdoor cabinet but prefer easier assembly or fewer door issues, keep an eye out for alternative models that highlight tool-free or simpler setups. Overall, this cabinet balances style, size, and durability well for the price.
