Pros
- •High-quality seeds attract a large and diverse variety of birds consistently, including chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, goldfinches, song sparrows, house finches, wrens, cardinals, and blue jays.
- •The 35 lb size lasts longer, meaning fewer trips to refill and less hassle overall.
- •Seeds are generally clean, with very little trash or filler, suggesting good quality and even suitability for planting.
- •Provides excellent food for birds especially during cold winter months but remains attractive in warmer seasons too.
- •Birds eagerly eat these seeds and quickly clean out feeders, proving their strong appeal.
- •Less seed waste compared to seasonal blends found at larger stores, making this a more efficient choice.
- •The product supports not just birds but also squirrels, indicating it’s a robust wildlife food source.
- •Customers find it worth the extra cost as it leads to increased bird activity and less mess compared to cheaper alternatives.
Cons
- •This product tends to be messier because birds shell the seeds right where they feed, leaving seed shells scattered around the feeding area.
- •It’s not the cheapest wild bird food option on the market, so budget-conscious buyers might hesitate.
- •Some users note the seed size as small, which might be less appealing if you are targeting larger birds specifically.
Bottom Line
If you're serious about attracting a lively variety of wild birds year-round, *Royal Wing Sunflower Heart Wild Bird Food, 35 lb* is a solid choice with excellent seed quality and strong bird appeal. The messiness from seed shells is a small trade-off for the vibrant bird activity you’ll see. However, if you’re watching your budget or want fewer shells around your feeder, you might want to explore other options later on. For now, this is a premium wild bird food that delivers on attracting happy wildlife.
