Pros
- •The 85-inch screen delivers crisp, clear picture quality with vibrant, true-to-life colors thanks to 4K HDR.
- •Enhanced Voice Remote is very responsive, and voice commands work reliably without lag.
- •Smooth streaming experience with built-in RokuTV and Wi-Fi, perfect for live news, sports, and entertainment.
- •Easy to set up, assemble, and start using quickly, even for less tech-savvy users.
- •Lightweight design for a TV of this size makes installation and handling easier than expected.
- •Built-in speakers provide clear and decent audio quality, better than many comparable sets without separate soundbars.
- •Roku’s privacy-conscious approach and user-friendly interface are appreciated compared to competitors like Google TV and Fire TV.
- •Excellent value for an 85-inch 4K TV with HDR at this price point.
Cons
- •Sound quality can be inconsistent with some reports of lacking bass and requiring higher volume levels; a soundbar is recommended for a full audio experience.
- •Some users report occasional sound cutouts that need a reboot to fix.
- •Bluetooth headphone support can be glitchy, often reverting audio back to the phone when paused.
- •Stand assembly may be tricky on such a large screen and might be better suited for wall mounting.
- •Roku app connectivity has mixed reliability on smaller models, so it’s unclear if there may be some issues on larger variants as well.
- •Those wanting an ultra-premium audio experience with Dolby Atmos will need to pair with external speakers, as built-in speakers don’t deliver full Atmos immersion.
Bottom Line
This Roku Smart TV 2025 85-Inch Select Series is a great choice if you want a large, vibrant 4K HDR screen with smooth Roku TV streaming and a responsive voice remote, all at an affordable price. However, if you are an audiophile or want immersive sound directly from the set, consider budgeting for a soundbar, as the built-in speakers are decent but not game-changing. For users focused primarily on picture and Roku’s streamlined smart platform, this TV delivers excellent value and ease of use. If you need a smaller size with the same Roku quality, keep an eye out for the Pro models in the near future.
