Pros
- •Tracks a broad range of body metrics including weight, body fat percentage, BMI, muscle mass, and visceral fat, offering a comprehensive health overview.
- •Pairs easily and reliably with the RENPHO app, which supports multiple users and provides detailed trend tracking to monitor progress over time.
- •Compatible with Samsung Health, allowing seamless automatic data imports for users in that ecosystem.
- •Features a high-precision sensor system with 8 electrodes on a larger platform, aimed at improving measurement accuracy.
- •Sleek, well-built, and visually appealing design that is easy to set up straight out of the box.
- •Provides extra health data beyond basic weight measurement, useful for planning nutrition, fluid intake, and fitness goals.
- •Displays key metrics directly on the scale screen, so you can get readings even without the phone connected.
- •Reliable in tracking weight consistently and helpful for observing trends, especially for those focused on routine weight monitoring.
- •Supports multiple user profiles, making it suitable for families or shared households.
Cons
- •The scale sometimes struggles to provide consistent readings, with some users reporting it only works correctly about 10% of the time.
- •Body composition measurements such as body fat and muscle mass can be inaccurate or inconsistent, leading to unrealistic fluctuations.
- •The device's handle may be awkward or difficult to retract, which can be annoying but does not affect usability.
- •The platform size may feel small for users with larger feet (size 10.5 US or bigger), although this does not impact the scale’s function.
- •Data continuity is lost because this model does not integrate with previous scale data, making long-term trend tracking less seamless.
- •Despite advertising 25+ measurement types, most metrics are similar to those found on cheaper models, diminishing the perceived value.
- •Muscle mass readings in particular are questionable in accuracy, and alternative measurement methods might be more reliable.
- •Customer support has been described as dismissive or unhelpful when users report technical issues.
- •Some users feel that differences between this scale and cheaper alternatives don’t justify the higher price.
- •Trend graphs and analysis in the app are limited compared to some less expensive competitors.
Bottom Line
The RENPHO Scale for Body Weight and Fat Percentage offers a solid, smart tracking experience with a large platform and multi-user support, making it especially appealing if you're deeply integrated into the Samsung Health ecosystem or want a sleek, comprehensive health tracker. However, if you need ultra-precise body composition measurements or rock-solid reliability every single time, you might find the inconsistencies frustrating. For those whose main goal is consistent weight tracking with decent body metrics, this scale does the job well. If muscle mass accuracy and extended trend continuity are top priorities, you may want to explore other models or complementary options.
