Pros
- •Stylish and durable design that stays true to the classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer look, blending fashion with technology seamlessly.
- •Impressive loud and clear audio quality without needing earbuds, making calls and music enjoyable.
- •Sharp 12 MP ultra-wide camera captures high-quality photos and smooth video, with effective image stabilization especially at 1080p.
- •Battery life is doubled compared to previous versions, supporting several hours of regular use and quick charging.
- •Responsive voice commands and a smooth touchpad provide intuitive and hassle-free control.
- •Lightweight and comfortable frame suitable for all-day wear with minimal slipping.
- •Built-in AI assistant can handle messaging, web browsing, and basic commands effectively.
- •Live translation and call quality—including WhatsApp calls—are crystal clear.
- •The charging case doubles as a portable charger, adding convenience on the go.
- •Iconic smart glasses ideal for fitness enthusiasts and outdoor activities like skiing due to hands-free video and photo capture.
Cons
- •Video recording is limited to 5-minute clips, which can be restrictive for continuous capture occasions.
- •Built-in blinking LED light during recording can be distracting and raises privacy concerns for both wearer and those around.
- •Battery life, while improved, still only lasts around 4 hours with continuous use and could be better.
- •Camera placement can be obstructed by hair, especially bangs, limiting usability at times.
- •The app experience is basic and can be fussy syncing videos to the gallery, hampering smooth media management.
- •Lack of waterproofing means you need to be cautious around water.
- •No SD card slot—media must be transferred via phone connection which can feel limiting.
- •Glasses feel a bit heavier on the nose than on the ears, which may affect comfort during prolonged use.
- •The camera's field of view isn’t very wide, which can feel limiting for some video or photo scenarios.
- •Music playback quality is decent but not exceptional compared to dedicated audio devices.
Bottom Line
The **Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) Wayfarer Smart AI Glasses** combine iconic style with solid smart features like a sharp camera, clear audio, and useful AI functions all wrapped in a comfortable, lightweight frame. However, if you want longer video recording times, better waterproofing, or a more robust app experience, you might find some limits here. The battery life and privacy LED could also be dealbreakers for heavy users. If you’re seeking a balance of classic style and smart tech for casual use or fitness activities, these glasses are definitely worth considering. For users wanting extended video capabilities or a wider field of view, keep an eye out for future upgrades or complementary accessories.
