- •The Pulsar Pro offers engaging and fun gameplay once the water beads have fully hydrated, especially enjoyed by older kids.
- •Assembly is straightforward with parts snapping together easily, making setup quick.
- •Comes with a rechargeable battery that has a good initial charge, allowing immediate play without needing a recharge.
- •Features both semi-automatic and fully automatic firing modes, with a smooth switch between them.
- •Impressively shoots up to 200 feet per second with a max shooting distance of 200 feet, although typical range is 100-125 feet.
- •Safety goggles are included, along with a safety switch for secure handling.
- •Designed for multi-player outdoor fun and is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional paintball.
- •Adjustable sights and a sturdy but lightweight build improve shooting accuracy and handling.
- •Comes in various unique colors, adding to its appeal.
- •Compatible with accessories like GoPro or flashlight mounts for action shots and enhanced play experience.
Cons
- •The gel beads frequently break on impact, leaving a messy residue that limits play mostly to outdoor settings.
- •Recharge and ammo replenishment breaks interrupt continuous play, which can affect the flow of games.
- •Durability is a significant concern, as some units have stopped working after just a few uses due to mechanical or battery failures.
- •Troubleshooting issues arise from the gearbox or resetting mechanism locking up, often requiring switching fire modes to temporarily fix trigger problems.
- •The plastic construction feels cheap and can lead to a short lifespan, making it less suitable for heavy or long-term use.
- •Magazine release is overly sensitive, causing frequent accidental drops of the magazine during play.
- •Customer support has been reported as unresponsive, adding frustration if issues arise.
- •Accuracy is decent only up to about 25 feet; beyond that, hitting targets gets challenging.
- •Switching between full auto and single fire modes is necessary at times to avoid firing malfunctions, which disrupts gameplay.
Bottom Line
The Hydro Strike Pulsar Pro is a fun, eco-friendly gel blaster ideal for older kids and outdoor summer battles, offering a solid set of features like rechargeable power, multiple firing modes, and included safety gear. However, its plastic build and mechanical reliability issues mean it’s best suited for casual, light use rather than heavy or long-term play. If durability and uninterrupted performance are your top priorities, you might want to keep an eye out for alternatives with stronger construction or better-supported customer service. For now, if you want to dive into gel blaster fun with decent power and accessories, this one hits the mark — just be prepared for some maintenance and outdoor clean-up.
