Cons
- •Large fat cap makes slow cooking challenging, resulting in a more 'slicable' texture.
- •Concerns about the lack of clear sourcing information (hormone-free, pasture-raised, etc.).
- •Strong smell and slimy texture upon opening.
- •Reports of food safety issues, including food poisoning.
- •Some cuts had excessive fat, leading to wastage.
- •Concerns about the use of meat glue to bind the meat.
Bottom Line
While the Boneless Pork Butt Roast from Hamilton Meats and Provisions offers good value and flavor, it's not without its issues. Prospective buyers should be aware of potential safety concerns and a higher-than-expected fat content. For those prioritizing quality and sourcing, purchasing fresh pork from a reputable source like Whole Foods might be a better option.
