Pros
- •Reliable brand with a solid reputation and trusted for dependable storage solutions.
- •Great value for a 3-pack of 32GB drives at a low price, considered a bargain.
- •Well-built with a sturdy design that can hold up with regular use and wear.
- •Effective for creating bootable Windows USB drives using Microsoft’s media creation tool.
- •No significant speed difference appears between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 for bootable disk creation tasks.
- •Suitable for storing setup tools like drivers and software beyond just boot disks.
- •Adequate storage capacity (32GB per drive) for typical data transfer and bootable media needs.
Cons
- •USB 2.0 interface limits speed, making these drives slow for regular large file transfers.
- •Two out of three drives in some packs failed to be recognized or were incompatible with Windows.
- •One drive out of three has been reported to fail entirely after testing on multiple machines.
- •Very stiff sliding mechanism makes it hard to get the USB tip out, especially if hands are sweaty.
- •Design requires pushing the USB tip out without removing plastic, which is less intuitive and sometimes ineffective.
- •Performance is slower than expected for general use outside of bootable disk creation.
- •May require persistence or multiple attempts before the drive is recognized by some computers.
- •Quality does not always justify the value due to reliability concerns with some units.
Bottom Line
If you need a budget-friendly, basic USB 2.0 option mainly for creating bootable Windows installation drives or storing setup tools, the PNY Attache 32GB 3-Pack delivers solid functionality with decent build quality. However, beware that reliability issues affect some units, and transfer speeds are modest due to USB 2.0 limits. For consistently faster performance and more intuitive design, you might want to consider a USB 3.0 alternative if your budget allows. Still, for occasional boot media use and light storage, this pack is a decent bargain that gets the job done.
