- •Works effectively for console streaming, particularly with the PS4.
- •Great build quality with an adjustable stand and a three to four-foot USB cable.
- •Well-liked for its cool functionalities and recommended for streaming.
Cons
- •Limited games utilize the camera's capabilities, especially with PS VR.
- •Picture resolution may be pixelated in low light conditions.
- •Face recognition login feature is unreliable from six feet away.
- •Microphone functionality is present but not extensively featured.
- •Compatible only with PS4 due to a special connector and not usable with PCs or other devices.
- •Some anticipated software support and features not yet delivered through PS4 OS updates.
- •Not recommended at full price due to limited functionality, better at a lower price.
Bottom Line
The Sony PlayStation 4 Camera is an affordable and user-friendly choice for gamers interested in streaming from their console, especially for platforms like Twitch. While it offers solid performance and is easy to set up, the limited functionalities and exclusive PS4 compatibility might be a dealbreaker for some. It's a good investment at a lower price, but if you're keen on broader features or PC compatibility, you might want to look elsewhere.
