- •The harness is easy to fit, especially for larger breeds like Golden Doodles.
- •Its no-pull feature effectively reduces pulling by about 65-70%, which is a significant improvement over neck collars.
- •It works well right from the first use, offering immediate control over strong pullers.
- •Unlike choke or prong collars, it stops pulling without causing gagging or choking.
- •The harness provides good support, which can help older dogs stay mobile and comfortable during longer walks.
- •Many users found it to be a game changer for walking dogs that are difficult to control or reluctant to move.
- •It’s highly recommended for dogs with moderate pulling issues rather than extreme cases.
Cons
- •It doesn’t completely eliminate pulling for very strong, energetic dogs, and may not be effective for intensive training.
- •Some dogs, especially those with large chests, may experience fit issues where straps do not sit correctly.
- •The harness lacks padding, which led to irritation and even bleeding under some dogs' armpits.
- •Clip durability is a concern, with reports of clips breaking within a month, raising safety risks like escapes.
- •There is a slight learning curve to figure out the correct way to put the harness on.
- •Using this harness with two dogs can be awkward, with leash positioning becoming problematic for highly active pups.
Bottom Line
The PetSafe Easy Walk Dog Harness is a solid choice if you want to reduce pulling by about two-thirds without resorting to harsh collars, especially for bigger, moderate-pulling dogs. However, if your dog is a strong, relentless puller or has a large chest that’s hard to fit, you might encounter issues with fit, comfort, and clip durability. If padding or extreme durability is a priority, you could consider exploring other no-pull harnesses with softer materials or more robust hardware for peace of mind. Overall, this harness strikes a good balance of control and comfort for many owners, but it’s not a magic fix for every dog or walking scenario.
