Pros
- •The peanut butter flavor is rich, delicious, and reminiscent of classic Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups without an unpleasant aftertaste.
- •Bars have a satisfying crunch and chewy, soft texture that many find enjoyable.
- •Each bar packs a solid 18 grams of protein with only 3 grams of sugar, making it a nutritious option.
- •Very filling and dense; a great snack to curb peanut butter cravings or hold you over between meals.
- •Convenient grab-and-go option suitable for breakfast, lunch, or post-workout fuel.
- •Considered high quality and superior in flavor compared to other similar products, especially Hershey’s alternatives.
- •Provides excellent value when purchased in bulk as a pantry staple.
- •Taste is often described as better than nostalgic 'Space Food Sticks,' but with more appeal and modern flavors.
- •Highly recommended for those who prefer chewy, protein-rich bars with a candy-bar-like taste.
Cons
- •Contains maltitol, a sugar substitute that may cause significant digestive issues such as stomach cramps, excessive gas, diarrhea, and nausea for sensitive individuals.
- •Side effects from maltitol can be delayed by 2-4 hours and may last several days, so trying one bar slowly is advisable.
- •Not ideal to consume before important events or social occasions due to potential digestive discomfort.
- •Slightly too sweet for some palates, though still enjoyable overall.
- •Does not taste exactly like a peanut butter cup, so flavor expectations should be aligned accordingly.
Bottom Line
The ONE Protein Bars in Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers flavor offer a compelling combination of decadent peanut butter taste, high protein content, and low sugar, making them a fantastic option for snackers, athletes, or anyone craving a sweet but smart treat. However, those sensitive to sugar alcohols like maltitol should proceed with caution and test tolerance gradually to avoid unpleasant digestive side effects. If you want a dependable, tasty peanut butter protein bar with gluten-free credentials, this product stands tall. For those wary of maltitol, exploring other protein bars without this ingredient might be a safer bet.
