Cons
- •Many reviews report significant OS bugs, such as frequent restarts every 30 minutes, impacting reliability.

- •Proprietary drivers hinder open-source modifications and extend dependency on NVIDIA’s ecosystem.

- •Initial startup can be slow, and hardware setup requires additional accessories like USB-C converters.
- •Performance in daily tasks and throughput may lag behind high-end GPUs like the 5090, especially outside VRAM capacity.
- •OS stability issues reduce overall user satisfaction and can hinder workflow.
- •The proprietary software ecosystem raises concerns about long-term support and software updates.
- •Some users find the device disappointing for the price and may hesitate to repurchase NVIDIA products at this level.
Bottom Line
The NVIDIA DGX Spark™ offers impressive capabilities for local AI model deployment, especially for enthusiasts and small labs focused on secure, private processing. However, its ongoing OS stability issues, high price, and reliance on proprietary technology make it a risky investment unless your needs are very specific. If you’re seeking a more stable or open system, you might want to consider alternatives like the NVIDIA DGX Series or a more customizable workstation. Otherwise, be prepared for some technical troubleshooting and patience with setup.
