- •Produces beautiful, even slices with less core residue than expected
- •Cuts through the entire apple, allowing slices and core to fall out easily when turned upside down
- •Easy to clean and use at first
- •Large diameter design is useful for bigger apples
- •Conceptually a good idea, with a solid stainless steel build
Cons
- •Requires significant arm strength to operate, making it difficult to push down
- •Blades are not very sharp, affecting cutting ease and performance
- •Needs excessive force, often requiring two people or banging on the counter to operate effectively
- •Sharpness diminishes quickly after a few uses, reducing cutting efficiency
- •Difficult to use for large quantities of apples and not very user-friendly for all users, especially the elderly or those with less strength
- •Often gets stuck partway through the apple, failing to cut all the way through
- •Produces ragged edges on slices and can cause apples to oxidize faster
- •The overall design needs improvement to enhance functionality and ease of use
Bottom Line
This apple slicer has a promising concept and a sturdy stainless steel build, but its performance is hampered by dull blades and the need for significant effort. It's best suited for users with good hand strength and patience, but many may find it frustrating, especially for frequent use. If ease of use and durability are priorities, you might want to consider a different slicer that offers sharper blades and requires less force.
