Pros
- •Excellent battery life with a 5000mAh battery that lasts multiple days under moderate use, living up to Motorola’s promise of long-lasting power.
- •Bright and sharp 6.8" display with good visibility from multiple angles, ideal for watching videos or one-handed use.
- •Powerful stereo speakers with Bass Boost deliver clear and immersive audio quality.
- •Unshakable 50MP camera system with OIS captures sharper photos and smoother videos, especially in good lighting conditions.
- •Minimal bloatware in the unlocked version, allowing customization and removal of most pre-installed apps.
- •Retains useful legacy features like a headphone jack and microSD card slot, which are increasingly rare in modern smartphones.
- •Smooth performance thanks to an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB storage, with RAM Boost enhancing multitasking.
- •Unique Motorola gesture features like quick camera access via wrist twist and flashlight activation by chopping motion work well and add convenience.
- •5G connectivity is reliable and fast, improving data speeds significantly compared to older models.
- •Call quality is clear and dependable, making it a solid choice for everyday communication.
Cons
- •Camera performance struggles in low-light conditions without manual adjustments or additional help, limiting its versatility in darker environments.
- •Occasionally inconsistent performance with minor lags and skipped inputs during fast typing, which can be frustrating.
- •Multi-function buttons feel unintuitive and sometimes complicate the user experience rather than enhancing it.
- •Notification settings can be overwhelming at first, with some notifications reappearing even after being turned off.
- •Fingerprint sensor setup is tricky and can be obstructed by certain cases, requiring patience to calibrate properly.
- •The large 6.8" size makes typing less comfortable for users with bigger hands, which might reduce ease of use for some.
- •The phone does not include a charger in the box, so you’ll need to buy one separately or use an existing charger.
- •Network compatibility issues have been reported outside the US, for example, it does not work in Australia.
- •Some users reported issues with the phone not being unlocked as advertised, which could be a significant inconvenience if it happens.
Bottom Line
The Motorola Moto G Power 2025 is a well-rounded and affordable smartphone that shines in battery longevity, display quality, and handy features like 5G and Motorola's trademark gestures. It’s a great pick if you want solid everyday performance without breaking the bank, especially if battery life and media consumption are your priorities. However, if you need a phone with better low-light camera performance or a more compact size, you might want to explore other options. Also, be ready to purchase a charger separately and confirm network compatibility if you’re outside the US.
