Why this score?
The Mitutoyo 500-196-30 Digital Caliper receives a moderate score due to its high precision, build quality, and multiple measurement modes, which are highlighted in many customer reviews. However, several users noted significant concerns such as the lack of an auto-off feature and some difficulties with button accessibility, particularly the recessed inch/mm button. While praised for accuracy, the product's performance relative to its premium price point raises questions, especially with reports of inconsistencies in initial zero readings and battery management issues.
