Pros

- •Uses a 1/4" hex chuck for quick, easy bit changes and less bulk than typical three-jawed chucks
- •Includes two batteries and a charger, ensuring extended work time without frequent recharging
- •White LED light activates before the motor starts and stays on briefly after release, improving visibility
- •Battery gauge clearly shows remaining charge, aiding in battery management
- •Adjustable torque ring works independently of drill/driver mode for quick switching without readjusting torque
- •Brushless motor extends battery life and delivers more power than previous models
- •Powerful performance with seamless variable speed and clutch control that prevents screw stripping
- •Ergonomic handle fits larger hands well and the tool remains lightweight despite a slightly heavier build
Cons
- •Battery life drains quickly when operating at higher speed due to increased power demand
- •Buttons for forward/reverse are poorly designed and easily pressed accidentally
- •No dedicated storage space for spare bits included in the kit
- •Hook/belt clip can feel awkward or limited in utility depending on user’s clothing or tool belt setup
- •Case provided is a contractor bag rather than the plastic case shown in marketing images, offering less accessory storage
- •Torque control could be finer at lower settings, requiring trigger modulation for precise screwdriving
- •Handle may not be as comfortable for users with smaller hands
Bottom Line
The Milwaukee 2402-22 M12 Fuel 1/4 Hex 2-Spd Screwdriver Kit is a powerful, compact, and well-designed tool ideal for anyone needing a strong secondary drill/driver that excels in tight spaces and delivers precise, reliable torque control. Its quick-change hex chuck, excellent lighting, and battery management features make it a versatile choice for professionals and serious DIYers alike. Just be aware of some minor ergonomic and design quirks, such as the button sensitivity and the contractor bag case instead of a hard plastic one. If you want a similar tool but prefer a more refined storage solution or slightly improved button design, keep an eye on comparable Milwaukee models or other M12 Fuel options.
