- •The large glass trackpad is smooth, precise, and supports Windows 10 gestures, providing a navigation experience close to Mac trackpads.
- •Strong magnets hold the device firmly, stabilizing the keyboard even when used on laps or uneven surfaces.
- •Slim and lightweight design keeps the overall footprint minimal, allowing users to continue using existing laptop sleeves with ease.
- •The keyboard cover doubles as a protective shield for the Surface Pro screen and resists minor spills and dust, making it durable and easy to maintain.

- •Compatible with multiple Surface Pro models (including Pro 3, 4, and 7), making it a versatile upgrade for many users.

Cons
- •The thin corners of the cover may show wear over extended use, though no widespread issue has been reported yet.
- •The surface tends to attract fingerprints and oils easily, requiring occasional cleaning.
- •There is no built-in holder for a stylus pen, which might be inconvenient for users who frequently use a Surface Pen.
- •Some users note that despite improvements, the keyboard can still feel somewhat flimsy compared to traditional laptop keyboards when used on laps.
- •The overall typing experience, while excellent, might still take a short adjustment period for users transitioning from a full-size laptop keyboard.
Bottom Line
The Microsoft Type Cover for Surface Pro in black delivers one of the best typing and touchpad experiences available for Surface tablets, transforming your device into a highly productive ultrabook-like setup. Its combination of responsive keys, backlighting, and a premium glass trackpad make it a valuable upgrade, especially for those coming from older Type Cover versions or looking to replace a worn-out keyboard. Keep in mind the lack of a stylus holder and the potential for minor wear on the edges, but overall, this cover balances durability, functionality, and aesthetics very well. If you're looking for a solid, official accessory that pairs perfectly with your Surface Pro, this is a smart choice.
