- •Keys are highly responsive and comfortable to type on, with a normal texture that suits users sensitive to key feel.
- •The trackpad works smoothly and precisely, enhancing usability.
- •Restores full functionality to Surface Pro models, including Pro 4 and Pro 6, with simple plug-and-play setup.
- •Maintains the high quality and feel consistent with genuine Microsoft keyboards, making it a cost-effective renewed option.

Cons
- •The keyboard layout is non-standard and differs significantly from typical US or English keyboards, causing confusion.
- •The #3 key outputs a British pound symbol instead of the expected character, which can slow down typing.
- •The left shift key is unusually large and misplaced, leading to frequent typing errors, especially when capitalizing.
- •Many keys are relocated, requiring users to relearn finger positions and reducing typing speed.
- •This keyboard is not an original Microsoft Surface product but a compatible renewed version, which may concern some users.
- •Some users find the unconventional layout frustrating and inefficient despite the quality construction.
- •Lacks dedicated brightness adjustment keys found on some original Surface keyboards.
- •The keyboard may be less ideal if portability is a priority due to its larger size.
Bottom Line
If you want a *like-new* typing experience for your Surface Pro without paying full retail price, this renewed Microsoft Type Cover delivers solid performance with responsive keys and a smooth trackpad. However, beware of the unconventional layout quirks—especially if you rely on a standard US keyboard setup or brightness keys. For those who want the simplest plug-and-play, official feel, sticking with an original or refurbished Microsoft keyboard might be safer. But if you don’t mind a bit of relearning and want to save some cash, this is a dependable, cost-effective option to bring your Surface Pro back to life.
