Bottom Line
Based on our review analysis, MEGUIAR'S Bug & Tar Remover excels at dissolving bugs and tackling stubborn residues like shotgun spores, and reviewers confirmed it's safe for your paint. At $7.99, it's an affordable choice that delivers solid bug-removal results. However, we've noted concerning reports about spray mechanism failures, rapid drying in hot weather, and weaker tar-removal performance compared to alternatives. If you're in a cooler climate and primarily need bug removal, we think it's worth trying; just keep in mind the potential spray issues some reviewers experienced.
