Bottom Line
*Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree* on PlayStation 5 offers a visually stunning and atmospheric Metroidvania experience with strategic combat and deep exploration. If you enjoy dark fantasy narratives blended with light Souls-like challenges and don't mind some frustration from crafting and platforming quirks, this game is a rich, worthwhile adventure. However, those seeking more polished mechanics or a less punishing difficulty might want to consider their tolerance for these rough edges before diving in. The Collector’s Edition adds notable value for fans wanting a physical keepsake. If you want a similar Metroidvania vibe with perhaps smoother platforming or a different combat challenge, you might want to look for other titles on PS5, but this one holds a unique charm that’s hard to pass up.
