Pros
- •Effectively controls ceiling fan speeds from a wall switch, replacing the need for a pull chain.
- •Maintains the selected speed setting even after the fan is turned off and back on.
- •Offers a separate ON/OFF rocker switch and a three-position slide switch for fan speed.
- •Convenient for operation in the dark, as the speed switch can be left on the preferred setting.
- •Matches existing Lutron dimmer switches for a cohesive look.
- •Installation is straightforward, with clear and helpful instructions provided.
- •High-quality build, consistent with Lutron's reputation for durability.
- •Aesthetic improvement over traditional switches.
- •Offers three distinct speeds with a satisfying 'click' for user feedback.
- •Simple and efficient fan control system.
Cons
- •The slider does not allow for variable speed adjustment, only offers low, medium, or high settings.
- •If the slider is positioned between settings, the fan will stop spinning.
- •Requires cutting off tabs for proper fit in the faceplate.
- •The lowest speed setting doesn't move much air, which could be disappointing for certain uses like a fireplace fan.
- •The high setting may produce a loud, nearly deafening noise.
Bottom Line
Overall, the Lutron Deep Back Cover CT 1.5A Quiet Fan Speed Control offers effective fan management with added convenience and quality design. While it may require some adjustment for certain installations and lacks variable speed control, it's a solid choice for those looking to streamline fan operation with consistent performance and aesthetic appeal. Just keep in mind the potential noise level on the highest setting.
