- •Great for reducing wrist and hand stress, especially beneficial for those with repetitive stress or chronic wrist issues.
- •Adjustable tilt angles (0, 10, 20, and 30 degrees) offer ergonomic flexibility to suit different postures.
- •Wireless connectivity via both Bluetooth and dongle works reliably and allows easy switching between up to two devices.
- •Heavier build keeps the mouse stable with minimal unwanted movement during use.
- •Programmable buttons enhance productivity by allowing customization for specific functions, supported by an intuitive companion app.
- •Precision mode button enables slow, accurate cursor movement—ideal for detailed design or spreadsheet work.
- •Comfortable fit for large hands with a design that keeps the wrist immobile and supported.
- •Learning curve for using a trackball mouse is shorter than expected, with most users comfortable within a few days.
- •Can be used wirelessly while charging via micro USB, ensuring uninterrupted use.
- •Horizontal scroll and adjustable trackball speed add to usability and control options.
Cons
- •The tilt adjustment lacks forward/backward angles, which may cause discomfort when using standing desks or non-traditional setups.
- •The included riser can slip on smooth surfaces, making a mousepad with wrist support necessary for best stability.
- •Some users experienced right-click malfunctions, potentially indicating a quality control issue.
- •The mouse’s height requires lifting the hand slightly to reach the keyboard, which might feel awkward initially.
- •Bluetooth supports switching between only two devices, fewer than some competitors offer.
- •Only two pointer resolution settings are available, limiting fine-tuned sensitivity adjustments.
- •Bulkier and heavier than some users may prefer, though it adds to durability and stability.
- •The charging cable uses micro USB rather than the now more common USB-C, a minor downside.
- •The magnetic metal bottom plate can stick to metallic surfaces and potentially interfere with sensitive nearby equipment.
- •Thumb-centric control may be challenging for users with thumb discomfort or limited dexterity.
Bottom Line
The Logitech MX ERGO Wireless Trackball is a highly ergonomic, durable, and customizable device that can significantly reduce wrist and hand strain, making it a top choice for users looking to alleviate repetitive stress issues. While it has a bit of a learning curve and some minor drawbacks like limited tilt and resolution settings, the adjustable angles, precision mode, and reliable wireless options make it a worthy long-term investment. If you need more advanced tilt options or a USB-C charger, you might want to explore other ergonomic trackballs, but for a blend of comfort, stability, and functionality, the MX ERGO is tough to beat.
