Cons
- •Not a direct-drive wheel, so it offers less precise feedback than high-end systems, which may be noticeable to expert racers
- •Occasional software issues, including connection or functionality glitches after updates, can require troubleshooting or reinstallation
- •Force feedback can intermittently stop working in some titles despite active steering and pedals, potentially disrupting immersion
- •Secure mounting is essential; a flimsy or unstable setup can reduce overall experience
- •Gear shifter, while functional, may not feel as refined as higher-end standalone shifters, and some users mention it requiring a pressing-down motion to reverse
- •While durable, some users note that the software issues occasionally lead support to suggest hardware replacement, indicating potential reliability quirks
- •Price, although offering great value, might still be a steep investment for casual or beginner players
Bottom Line
The Logitech G29 delivers an impressive balance of quality, realism, and durability at its price point, making it a popular choice for both casual and enthusiast racing fans. However, potential software glitches and the absence of a high-end direct drive system mean it may not satisfy very competitive or professional users. If you’re after more precise feedback and are willing to invest more, exploring a direct drive wheel might be worth considering. Otherwise, the G29 remains a solid option that offers immersive driving fun with dependable performance.
