- •Large capacity washer (4.5 cu. ft.) and dryer (7.4 cu. ft.) ideal for handling heavy and bulky loads efficiently.
- •Operates extremely quietly, quieter than many traditional washers and dryers, making laundry less disruptive.
- •Convenient height design (around 74 inches) allows easy access for most users and fits laundry baskets underneath without hassle.
- •Clothes consistently come out cleaner compared to laundromat machines, confirming effective washing performance.
- •User-friendly controls with a unified center control panel and full touch LED display simplify operation.
- •Dryer performance receives high marks for drying efficiency and excellent sanitizing steam cycles.
- •Built-in AI fabric sensors and ThinQ technology allow smart cycle customization and remote monitoring via smartphone.
- •Allergiene™ wash cycle effectively reduces up to 95% of common allergens, great for households with sensitivities.
- •Sleek aesthetic with tempered glass doors and rose gold trim adds a touch of style to your laundry space.
- •Energy Star qualified with features like sensor dry and energy monitoring for efficient operation.
Cons
- •The unit is very heavy and bulky as a one-piece washer/dryer combo, which can make moving and installation quite difficult and potentially costly.
- •Some confusion around electrical requirements: product includes 110V washer but claims 220V operation, which may cause wiring compatibility issues.
- •Washer water pulsing can limit hot water intake when paired with tankless water heaters, resulting in colder washes than expected.
- •Clothes may come out very wrinkled after the spin cycle, requiring additional wrinkle care or ironing.
- •Drum design is deep, making it difficult to reach clothes near the back without awkward bending or reaching in.
- •Customer service issues reported, including slow and unresponsive warranty support, delays in sending repair technicians, and costly out-of-pocket expenses for repairs and installation.
- •Some users have experienced early failures or the product stopping working within a few months.
- •Longer attachment components for plumbing venting can be insufficient depending on setup.
- •Noisy if not properly leveled despite TrueBalance anti-vibration system (less common complaint).
- •The single unit design restricts the ability to separate washer and dryer locations or replace one independently.
Bottom Line
The Single Unit Front Load LG WashTower™ offers impressive capacity, quiet operation, and smart technology packed into a stylish and convenient all-in-one design, making it a strong choice for busy households needing large loads and allergen control. However, consider your installation environment carefully—especially electrical compatibility and water heater type—as well as readiness for potential service challenges due to its weight and complexity. If service responsiveness or easier maintenance is a top priority for you, you might want to also explore separate washer and dryer units or stackable models that provide more flexibility. Otherwise, this WashTower™ delivers advanced fabric care with modern convenience that is hard to beat.
