- •Saves a lot of space, making it perfect for small laundry areas or apartments.
- •Hassle-free wash-to-dry functionality when instructions are properly followed, eliminating the need to swap loads.
- •Quiet operation with minimal vibration, even during spin cycles.
- •Eco-friendly with reduced water and detergent usage, and no vent emissions typical of traditional dryers.
- •Handles pet hair well, which is a boon for multi-pet households.
- •Easy setup and installation, although manual leveling is necessary.
- •Clothes generally come out soft and relatively wrinkle-free if promptly removed after drying.
- •Operates well with similar fabric types washed together, improving results.
- •Uses a resistive heater efficiently, though this affects drying time and energy consumption.
Cons
- •Drying cycles are very long—often several hours—especially compared to conventional washers and dryers.
- •Despite being advertised as ventless, the machine releases significant humidity, raising room humidity by about 20% after a load, likely requiring a dehumidifier or good airflow management.
- •Clothes can come out damp, spotty, or unevenly washed unless detergent use is carefully calibrated.
- •Steam feature reportedly damages elastic fabrics over time.
- •Lint catch is poorly designed and difficult to clean, adding to maintenance hassle.
- •The detergent drawer feels cheaply made despite having four compartments; incorrect detergent use can lead to overflow and poor cleaning.
- •App connectivity via ThinQ is unreliable and setup often fails, limiting smart control benefits.
- •Display panel illumination suffers after months of use, reducing readability.
- •Some users report frequent malfunctions and pump or drainage failures, complicating reliability.
- •Manufacturer support and repairs are difficult to coordinate, especially if not bought from an authorized dealer.
Bottom Line
If space is your top priority and you have the patience to master its quirks, the LG 4.5 cu.ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled All-In-One Washer/Dryer with TurboWash® Technology is a solid eco-friendly choice that saves room and handles pet hair with ease. However, don’t expect quick drying—be prepared for long cycles, elevated room humidity, and some fiddly maintenance. If you want faster, more reliable drying and less hassle, you might want to consider a separate vented washer and dryer setup or explore other combo units that better manage humidity and cycle times.
