- •Picture quality is outstanding, with deep blacks, vivid colors, and fantastic HDR detail that creates an almost 3D-like visual experience.
- •Performs excellently in dark rooms while still holding up well in bright environments, making it versatile for various lighting conditions.
- •Built-in speakers deliver excellent sound quality that can often eliminate the need for a separate soundbar.
- •Thoughtful accessibility features include simultaneous use of headphones and internal speakers with zero latency and independent volume controls, benefiting hearing-impaired users.
- •Retains a rare 3.5 mm analog headphone jack, preserving a valuable audio option that many TVs have dropped.
- •Sleek design with thin bezels and a slim profile looks modern and fits well into most living spaces.
- •Alexa voice control via the remote offers convenient hands-free operation for content selection.
- •Wi-Fi setup is smooth and quick, supported further by helpful AI setup assistance.
- •Allows alternative optical audio output, providing flexibility for soundbars or surround sound systems when headphones aren’t used.
Cons
- •The TV is quite heavy and cumbersome to move or mount, ideally requiring two people for safe installation.
- •Assembly instructions for the stand could be clearer, making initial setup a little more challenging than expected.
- •Remote control design has notable issues: no dedicated input or mute buttons, which some users find inconvenient.
- •The remote’s cursor pointer is difficult to control and cannot be permanently disabled, often jumping erratically and frustrating users, especially those with hand tremors.
- •Some AI features add unnecessary complexity without delivering clear benefits, detracting from a more streamlined user experience.
Bottom Line
The LG 48-Inch Class OLED evo AI 4K C5 Series impresses with its phenomenal picture and sound quality, plus thoughtful accessibility options that make it a standout choice for users seeking top-tier OLED performance in a compact size. Its sleek design and smart features like Alexa voice control round out a premium TV experience, although setup requires patience and the remote control could use some refinement. If remote usability is a major concern, or if you want a similarly sized model with a more user-friendly interface, consider exploring other LG OLED models or alternatives, but this TV is hard to beat for picture and sound at this class and price point.
