Pros
- •Offers top-tier performance suitable for demanding productivity and creative tasks, thanks to the Intel Core Ultra7 processor and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM.
- •Extremely lightweight for a 16-inch laptop at just over 3 pounds, making it perfect for users who need portability without sacrificing screen real estate.
- •Gorgeous 16-inch OLED touchscreen with a high resolution (2880 x 1800 pixels) delivers vibrant, bright, and crisp visuals ideal for media, design, or general use.
- •True 2-in-1 convertible design works well, seamlessly switching between laptop and tablet modes with stylus support.
- •Exceptional battery life that can comfortably last throughout a workday, enhancing mobility.
- •Solid build quality that passes rigorous military durability tests (MIL-STD 810H), offering robustness without bulk.
- •Fast NVMe SSD storage with dual slots plus Intel Arc integrated graphics with 16GB VRAM catering to graphics needs beyond basic laptop tasks.
- •Backlit keyboard and numeric keypad add to usability and comfort in various lighting conditions.
- •Overall, users praise the device for combining power, portability, and premium display in one sleek package.
Cons
- •Pen/stylus functionality has issues, especially with palm rejection and inconsistent double tap or button commands for right-click actions, which may frustrate artists or note-takers relying heavily on the stylus.
- •BIOS is minimalistic, offering very limited user customization or tweaking options, which could be a dealbreaker for power users and advanced customizers.
- •Firmware and driver updates require Windows, with no alternative boot options like bootable DOS or UEFI environments, limiting flexibility for installation or repair scenarios.
- •Graphics drivers do not work properly with open-source operating systems, making this less suitable for Linux or other alternative OS enthusiasts.
- •Lockdown design biases Windows use heavily and restricts system tinkering, which might be unsatisfactory for users wanting more control.
- •One reported case of a defective USB-C port that refused to charge or communicate, though this appears to be a rare hardware issue.
- •Inflexible return policy limits options to full product return rather than simple exchanges, which might inconvenience some buyers.
Bottom Line
The LG gram Pro 2in1 16-inch is a powerhouse in a featherweight chassis, ideal for professionals and creatives who want a stunning OLED touchscreen laptop that doubles as a tablet, without sacrificing battery life or portability. However, if you need highly reliable pen responsiveness or extensive BIOS and driver freedom—especially if you prefer Linux—you might find this device somewhat limiting. For those who prize versatility, performance, and lightweight design blended with a premium display on Windows 11, this is a compelling option. If your needs lean more toward open Linux environments or advanced customization, you might want to explore other options.
