- •Built-in webOS 23 smart functionality offers access to popular streaming apps and smart home command center features via ThinQ Home Dashboard.
- •Decent built-in 5W x 2 stereo speakers deliver clear sound, enhanced by HDR 10 support for a more immersive viewing experience.
- •Convenient connectivity with two HDMI ports (including eARC) and two USB ports, plus wireless Bluetooth support for keyboard, mouse, and audio devices.
- •Perfectly compatible with Mac devices and works well as a third monitor for multitasking or remote work setups.
- •Easy to set up and user-friendly interface for general use and casual work.
- •Bluetooth pairing works well for connecting external audio devices to enhance sound.
- •The matte screen reduces glare, which can be a plus in bright environments.
Cons
- •Overall system performance is slow and sometimes unresponsive, especially when navigating menus or switching display modes.
- •Built-in speakers are adequate but not loud enough at maximum volume, often requiring external audio solutions.
- •Initial setup can be confusing due to multiple smart TV logos and general UI sluggishness.
- •No USB-C port, limiting direct connectivity options with many modern laptops.
- •Remote control lacks Bluetooth capability and requires direct line of sight, which can be inconvenient; also lacks dedicated buttons for smart home functions.
- •Companion ThinQ app is unreliable and may experience lag or connection failures.
- •No AUX port, so soundbar connection options are limited to HDMI ARC, complicating some audio setups.
- •Some users report Bluetooth sound delay when syncing with Bluetooth soundbars over HDMI.
- •Smart home accessory control is slow and clunky due to the OS limitations.
Bottom Line
The LG 27SR50F-W MyView Smart Monitor is a solid choice if you want a versatile 27-inch Full HD display that doubles as a smart TV with integrated streaming and smart home controls. Its bright IPS panel and HDR 10 support deliver a vibrant picture, and built-in speakers are decent for casual use, though audiophiles will want external soundgear. However, be prepared for sluggish system performance and limited port options like the absence of USB-C and no AUX input. If you prioritize speed and modern connectivity, or want a more robust smart monitor experience, you might want to explore alternatives with faster OS responsiveness and better audio options. We think this monitor fits casual users and multitaskers who want smart features combined with decent screen performance without breaking the bank.
