Pros
- •Operates nearly silently, making it great for continuous use without causing disturbance.
- •The True HEPA filter has a long lifespan, reducing frequent replacement costs.
- •Initial air purification and automatic fan adjustment based on odor detection work very well when the unit is not defective.
- •User-friendly design with straightforward setup and an intuitive app that allows for remote control and air quality monitoring.
- •Effective at improving breathing and sinus issues within a few days of use according to some users.
- •Easy maintenance with simple filter removal and cleaning using a soft vacuum brush.
Cons
- •Current production batches often have a persistent and annoying clicking noise, indicating a widespread manufacturing defect.
- •The air quality sensors are unreliable, frequently giving inaccurate readings and failing to react properly to changes in the environment.
- •Auto mode often runs on unnecessarily low fan speed due to faulty sensor data, undermining automatic air adjustment benefits.
- •Emits an unpleasant smoky plastic or wet dog-like smell soon after use, which can worsen over time and negate health benefits.
- •WiFi connectivity tends to fail after about two years, causing loss of app control and remote monitoring with poor customer support or repair options.
- •Performance issues emerge quickly for some users, including constant high fan speeds without improvement in air quality readings.
- •Despite being a large unit, it offers few substantial improvements over smaller or less expensive models.
- •Quality and durability concerns with electronic components failing after one year for some users.
Bottom Line
The Levoit PlasmaPro 600S offers quiet and effective air purification with a strong HEPA filter and smart app features—**but buyer beware**: many users report serious issues with sensor accuracy, lingering unpleasant odors, and consistent clicking noises due to manufacturing defects. If those problems are a dealbreaker, it might be wise to hold off until Levoit resolves the quality glitches or explore other top-tier air purifiers known for stable sensors and long-term reliability. We recommend you carefully consider if the current batch's flaws outweigh the benefits, especially if accurate air quality monitoring and odor-free operation are must-haves for you. If you prefer alternatives with proven sensor reliability and no reported odor issues, feel free to ask for recommendations!
