- •The McLaren F1 model is a standout feature, praised for its fun build, beautiful design, and appealing color scheme.
- •Offers great value when there's a promotion, feeling like a significant discount.
- •Provides a delightful building experience, perfect for collaborative play, as it successfully engaged two grandchildren.
- •Includes an excellent toy with fantastic detail and easy-to-follow manuals.
- •Comes with an online manual option that allows for enlarged text, accommodating those with vision problems.
Cons
- •Assembly can be extremely frustrating, with pieces easily popping off during the build process.
- •The big angled white piece around the wheel is especially problematic, detaching with minimal pressure.
- •The orange car's design is not sturdy and frequently falls apart even with careful handling.
- •The Solus model is considered among the worst in the Speed Champions series, feeling bulky and plain.
- •Small stickers require careful application, needing additional tools like Windex and hobby tweezers.
Bottom Line
If you're a fan of McLaren or LEGO's Speed Champions series, this set could be a hit, especially due to the beloved McLaren F1 build. However, be prepared for potentially frustrating build issues with the Solus model and pay attention to detail during assembly. It might be worth waiting for a sale to maximize the value of this double-pack set.
