- •Effectively marks straight lines on wood and helps true miter saw blades to the table.
- •Comes with a carrying pouch for convenient storage and portability.
Cons
- •Display is only okay and becomes dim and unreadable after a year, raising concerns about durability.
- •Inconsistent readings when setting angles; can jump several tenths of a degree.
- •Difficult to zero; often needs multiple attempts to reset accurately.
- •LCD display's viewing angle is limited and requires bending for clear visibility.
- •Magnetic attachment is limited to the bottom, reducing versatility.
- •Concerns about fit and finish with a slightly skewed bottom housing.
Bottom Line
The JOHNSON LEVEL & TOOL 1886-0000 Magnet Digital Angle Locator is effective for quick and precise calibration tasks, particularly with miter and table saws, but it falls short in durability and display readability over time. If consistent accuracy and construction quality are top priorities, consider exploring alternative brands like Klein, which are noted for better reliability and precision.
