- •Supports separation into two speakers for a wide, immersive soundstage.
- •Battery is replaceable internally, and replacement options are affordable.
- •Bluetooth connectivity is easy and reliable, with good range.

- •Built with high-quality materials and solid construction, including a protective carry bag.
Cons
- •Bass boost button can be unreliable, requiring a firm press and sometimes not responding consistently.
- •Bass boost indicator light behaves inconsistently, which can be confusing.
- •Volume control lacks fine granularity at lower levels, making it harder to dial in precise quiet volumes.
- •Battery life is rated up to 15 hours but may only last around 4-5 hours at full volume with bass boost engaged.
- •AI Sound Boost features seem to have little noticeable impact on actual sound quality.
Bottom Line
The JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2 is a fantastic portable party speaker delivering powerful, room-filling bass and clear audio in a lightweight, easily transportable package. Its multi-speaker linking and light show add to the fun, making it a great choice for social gatherings. However, those sensitive to fine volume control or expecting flawless bass boost functionality might find it a bit frustrating. If you want a speaker with better bass boost controls or longer battery under full volume, you might consider exploring higher-end JBL PartyBox models, but for most users looking for strong sound with portability and some flashy features, this is a solid pick.
