Pros
- •Screws performed excellently for the intended use, particularly strong for outdoor applications.
- •High ratings for pullout (2,785 lbs) and shear strength (3,045 lbs) indicate strong holding capability.
- •Recommended by users for securing structures like gazebos to concrete patios, demonstrating effective performance.
- •Can be removed later if repositioning is necessary, adding flexibility.
- •Effectively withstands harsh conditions, ideal for safeguarding against weather emergencies like hurricanes.
- •Recommended using a cement bit and compressed air for optimal installation results.
Cons
- •Requires finesse during installation to avoid breakage; excessive force can lead to snapped heads or stripped threads.
- •Concerns raised about the trustworthiness of the advertised pullout rating, which some found exaggerated.
- •Not suitable for use with thinner materials, such as 1/2" boards.
- •Installation challenges include the need to clear concrete dust from holes, which can obstruct screw driving.
Bottom Line
If you're planning to secure materials to concrete, especially for outdoor use, the ITW Brands Concrete Anchors are a solid choice, offering high strength and adaptability. However, be prepared for a precise installation process to leverage their full potential. Keep in mind the suitability mostly for thicker materials and the need to monitor for potential breakage.
