- •Transforms the iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) into a laptop-like experience with easy magnetic attachment and a sturdy, floating screen design.
- •Features a highly responsive trackpad with smooth operation and perfect support for iPadOS gestures.
- •Offers a comfortable, quiet typing experience with backlit keys, ideal for use in low-light conditions.
- •Includes a new function key row for quick access to brightness, volume, media controls, and Spotlight search without leaving the keyboard.
- •Durable aluminum construction keeps the keyboard cool during extended typing sessions and protects the iPad screen from scratches.
- •The hinge is firm and holds the device at a comfortable angle for most users.
- •Seamlessly integrates with the iPad Pro, significantly boosting productivity for serious work or school use.
- •Adds some weight compared to just the iPad, but remains lighter and more portable than a traditional laptop.
- •Keys have slightly increased travel with satisfying clicks similar to MacBook keyboards, enhancing typing speed and feel.
- •Pairs automatically and works seamlessly right out of the box.
Cons
- •The trackpad lacks the satisfying, solid click feel present in previous models, which some users find less tactile.
- •The keyboard has only one USB-C port, limiting connectivity options for users needing to plug in multiple devices.
- •Some durability concerns around the edges have been noted, which could affect long-term use.
- •The hinge design, while firm, folds the screen backward, making access to some upper keyboard functions tricky for users with larger hands.
- •Not ideal for users with large fingers, as resting fingers can accidentally cancel typing or cause errant inputs.
- •Missing a dedicated place or holder to secure an Apple Pencil, which could be inconvenient for frequent stylus users.
- •Users would prefer the ability to fold the keyboard back completely to use the iPad as a tablet without detaching.
- •Occasional minor charging glitches may occur when connected via USB-C, typically resolved by reattaching the cable.
Bottom Line
If you want to truly transform your iPad Pro 13-inch (M4) into a portable, laptop-like powerhouse with a fantastic typing and trackpad experience, this Magic Keyboard Case delivers in almost every way—combining solid build quality, backlit keys, and smooth iPadOS integration. However, it does add some weight and has a few ergonomic quirks, especially if you have larger hands or need multiple USB-C ports. For heavy typists and productivity seekers, this is an essential accessory, though if you require broad connectivity or a fully foldable keyboard, you might want to explore complementary accessories or alternative keyboard cases.
