- •The iPad 2020 offers a sleek design with an excellent screen quality and a great size for portability and general use.
- •Works well as a note-taking device, especially when paired with a keyboard case and stylus pen, enhancing productivity.
- •It provides a smoother, more refined user experience compared to many Android tablets in the same price range.
- •Suitable for casual uses like video watching and light gaming, making it a good choice for kids or less demanding users.
- •The refurbished (renewed) option is a cost-effective alternative to buying new and often arrives in great condition.
- •Easy setup process, supported by Siri and seamless integration with Apple ecosystems.
- •Storage and performance are sufficient for everyday tasks such as storing documents and web browsing.
- •Device runs smoothly without major processing slowdowns in typical use cases.
- •Packaging shows care to protect refurbished devices during shipping.
Cons
- •Battery life is a major pain point, with frequent users reporting it drains fast and requires nightly charging, making it unsuitable for long sessions.
- •Charging issues have been flagged by some users, potentially requiring extra care or repair.
- •Device can become glitchy or slow down noticeably after extended use (around 15-20 minutes).
- •Limited 32GB storage means no room for expansion, which could frustrate users needing more space.
- •Relies heavily on AppleID, iCloud, and Google Drive, which may raise privacy concerns.
- •App Store restrictions limit access to some apps and services, such as GamePass for console streaming, making it less versatile for gaming.
- •Difficult to disable intrusive features or apps due to Apple’s ecosystem restrictions.
- •The refurbished condition can be inconsistent—some buyers have noticed scratches or minor wear not matching the "like new" description.
- •Cameras remain basic (8MP rear, 1.2MP front), less suitable for users wanting high-quality photography or video calls.
- •Antivirus and firewall capabilities are limited to status checks; it’s not suited for advanced security scanning.
Bottom Line
If you want a reliable, affordable Apple tablet primarily for light productivity, media consumption, or casual gaming, the Apple iPad 2020 (renewed) can be a solid choice—especially when paired with accessories like a keyboard and stylus. However, be wary of battery life and potential performance slowdowns over longer usage periods. The fixed 32GB storage and Apple ecosystem limitations may frustrate power users or those expecting a device for heavy multitasking or gaming. If you’re looking for better battery endurance or more versatile app options, you might want to explore newer models or alternatives with larger storage.
