Hisense PX4 Pro Laser Projector
Pros
- •Produces a sharp, detailed 4K pixel-shifted image with vivid, natural colors, strong HDR tone mapping, deep blacks, and impressive shadow detail.
- •The 3,500 ANSI-lumen RGB laser light source is bright enough for large 100–120-inch screens, rooms with ambient light, and 3D viewing.
- •Covers a wide color gamut, including full DCI-P3 and more than 100% of BT.2020 according to testing, with accurate Theater and Filmmaker presets.
- •A seven-step iris and CineBlack Pro processing provide unusually strong contrast for a DLP ultra-short-throw projector.
- •Supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, IMAX Enhanced, and 3D.
- •Offers excellent gaming performance with 1ms-class input lag, 1080p up to 240Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR, and FreeSync Premium certification.
- •The 66-watt Devialet-tuned 4.0.2-channel audio system delivers clear dialogue, solid bass, and convincing spatial effects.
- •VIDAA is fast and supports major services including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube, AirPlay, and Miracast.
- •Four HDMI inputs, including two HDMI 2.1 ports and eARC, provide flexible connectivity.
- •Runs notably quietly thanks to its redesigned cooling system.
Cons
- •Cannot display full-resolution 4K at 120Hz; 4K/60 offers the best balance of resolution and image quality.
- •Ultra-short-throw setup requires precise alignment, a flat screen, and careful attention to projector height and wall distance.
- •Limited lens adjustment range makes installation less flexible than some competitors.
- •Occasional rainbow artifacts may be visible, and dark scenes can show inconsistent colors or imperfect accuracy.
- •Dynamic Iris mode can cause noticeable brightness fluctuations, while stronger Brightness Enhancement modes may introduce a green tint, more fan noise, and reduced color accuracy.
- •Filmmaker Mode can appear too dim until the light-sensor setting is disabled, and accurate modes may initially look slightly warm.
- •Some picture modes exhibit color-uniformity inconsistencies, and the reflective front panel can be distracting in a dim room.
- •The solar-powered rechargeable remote lacks backlighting, making nighttime use inconvenient.
- •Hulu is unavailable as a standalone VIDAA app.
- •The angular chassis and prominent metal speaker grille are distinctive but not especially discreet.
Bottom Line
The PX4 Pro is a strong mid-range ultra-short-throw projector for buyers seeking bright, cinematic HDR, excellent built-in sound, broad format support, and serious gaming features in one package. Its main drawbacks are the demanding installation, occasional dark-scene and rainbow-artifact issues, and the limitation of 4K gaming to 60Hz. Even so, it is a compelling choice for large-screen movie viewing and 1080p high-refresh gaming.
