Pros
- •High quality and sturdy all-metal construction that rivals and sometimes surpasses more expensive brands.
- •Powerful motor with 12 adjustable speeds, handling everything from delicate cake batters to heavy bread and pasta dough with ease.
- •Includes essential attachments: flat beater, dough hook, and stainless steel whisk, with compatibility for a variety of specialty third-party and KitchenAid attachments.
- •Built-in specialty attachment hub expands versatility for pasta makers, vegetable spiralizers, meat grinders, and more.
- •Stainless steel 5-quart bowl with handle is durable and healthier compared to aluminum bowls in some competitors.
- •Sits firmly on the counter thanks to suction cup feet, preventing vibrations and movement during mixing.
- •Sleek, professional design that looks great in any kitchen.
- •Easy to clean and maintain, promoting long-lasting use.
- •Lighter and more compact than comparable mixers, while boasting twice the power of certain KitchenAid models.
- •Rated highly by users, often compared favorably to well-known brands like KitchenAid Artisan models.
Cons
- •Some specialty attachments, especially pasta makers and chopper/shredder accessories, have plastic parts that may degrade over time and are harder to clean.
- •The pasta roller cutters work best only with wheat-based, egg-containing doughs, limiting versatility with gluten-free or alternative flours.
- •Storage solutions for attachments are lacking, making organization a bit cumbersome.
- •While attachments are compatible with KitchenAid, fit and coverage may not be perfect, sometimes requiring third-party replacements.
- •Finding a suitable cover for the mixer can be challenging.
Bottom Line
The Hamilton Beach Professional All-Metal Stand Mixer (63240) is a powerful, versatile, and budget-friendly alternative to higher-end mixers with features that appeal to serious home bakers and professionals alike. Its strong motor, sturdy build, and wide range of attachments—especially its ability to accept KitchenAid-compatible tools—make it stand out. However, if you're planning to use specialty attachments frequently, be mindful of some durability and cleaning issues with plastic components. For those seeking a serious workhorse mixer that offers great bang for your buck and the capability to expand with add-ons, this is a strong contender. If you want an alternative mixer with similar power and versatility but maybe different attachment options or brand familiarity, keep an eye on other top-tier models like KitchenAid Artisan, though they come at a higher price point.
