Pros
- •Performs better than many pond foam alternatives and meets its intended purpose effectively.
- •Uses the entire can or nozzle without clogging, minimizing waste during application.
- •Dries quickly, within under an hour, allowing for faster project completion.
- •Minimal odor during application, making it more pleasant to work with than some other foams.
- •Easy and convenient to use, especially when applying to hard-to-see or tight spaces.
- •The unique black color blends well with dark surfaces, such as RV undercarriages, offering a visually neat finish.
- •Expands well enough to fill gaps effectively and hardens firmly for durable results.
- •Highly sticky and reliable, earning repeat purchases despite some application challenges.
Cons
- •Extremely sticky, requiring gloves, old clothes, and head protection to avoid difficult cleanup from skin, hair, and clothing.
- •Must use the entire can at once; leftover foam typically cannot be saved or reused.
- •The black color, while great for blending, can make it difficult to see whether gaps are fully filled, sometimes necessitating a follow-up application with a different foam.
- •Expands less than some other expanding foam products, potentially needing additional fill in larger gaps.
- •Removal or correction after curing is challenging, so careful application is necessary.
Bottom Line
Great Stuff 99112876 Smart Dispenser Multipurpose Black, 12 Oz. is a solid choice if you want a fast-drying, no-clog expanding foam with a unique black color that blends perfectly on dark surfaces like RVs. Just be ready to suit up with protective gear because its stickiness is no joke, and plan to use the whole can in one go since leftovers won't wait around. If you need more expansion or easier visibility during application, you might want to look into alternative foams with lighter colors or higher expansion rates, but for specialized multipurpose use and reliable performance, this product delivers well.
