Gorilla Clear Grip Adhesive
Pros
- •Extremely strong adhesive power that creates bonds often stronger than the materials themselves.
- •Versatile glue suitable for a wide variety of general-purpose and craft applications, including fabric patches and decorative items.
- •Works well both as a contact adhesive and for direct adhesion despite instructions leaning more toward contact use.
- •Offers a tacky consistency providing initial stability with the ability to reposition before fully drying.
- •Packaging helps keep the adhesive fresh longer and prevents drying out, unlike competitors like E-6000.
- •Less slippery than some common adhesives, making it easier to handle and position materials.
- •Comes in generously sized tubes that provide plenty of glue for many projects.
- •Excess adhesive can be trimmed or peeled off cleanly after drying.
- •Reliable, consistent performance that’s considered worth the investment by many users.
Cons
- •Has a noticeable odor that some users may find unpleasant.
- •Requires patience as it takes several hours to fully dry and cure; best results often come after letting it set overnight.
- •Tends to ooze uncontrollably from the tube when opened, which can lead to waste and messiness during detailed work.
- •Sets unevenly at times, with occasional clumping during drying.
- •Does not dry to a flexible finish and can rip or crack when rubbed or abraded.
- •Needs to be applied on both surfaces with a waiting period before joining, adding a step compared to some quick-glue types.
Bottom Line
Gorilla Clear Grip Contact Adhesive is a powerhouse for those who want a tough, permanent bond with versatility across materials and crafts. Its strong grip and superior packaging compared to alternatives like E-6000 make it a top contender—just be prepared for a bit of wait time and some messiness during application. If you want a less odorous or quicker-drying option, you might want to explore other specialty glues, but for sheer bonding strength and versatility, this is a solid go-to.
